OEM newbie alert! Does OEM support custom plugins?

So I've read quite a few different Oracle documents regarding OEM and I'm still a little confused on their support for custom plugins.  Within my "enterprise", I have several custom processes (basically C++ stand-alone executables) running across a few hosts.  It would be nice to have a monitoring agent look for those processes and if they exist, they are reported "green" and if they aren't then they are reported "red" to OEM.  Is this something I can even accomplish in OEM?  I can code up about anything, so I'm not afraid about that part, I just need to understand if
