Custom lightweight Opty buscomp and S_OPTY_BU

We need to create a very lightweight version of the Opportunity Buscomp for performance reasons. It seems to work ok, except I've noticed there is no S_OPTY_BU record being created. Other than that the records work fine. Is a S_OPTY_BU record really needed ? What controls how that is created in the standard Opportunity buscomp?

Nevermind..it turns out the S_OPTY_BU record being created after all. I was looking at the wrong column on S_OPTY_BU!
