Asset Purchasing flows understanding with asset tracking

Have gone through the documents for asset purchasing through asset tracking

1.Asset purchase through normal depreciable  item

2.Asset Purchase though asset tracking for normal inventory item issue to filed location

Major difference item created as depreciable item by enable( create FA ) in item master

In service for the normal item

Please need to understand the business requirement for the both

and if the normal item was not enabled for (Create fixed asset ) how the asset is getting created and depreciation done
