how to Convert Varchar2 ' MAR-16-17' to Date ('03-2017') in Oracle SQL

I would like to change varchar2 type ('MAR-16-17') to Date ('03-2017') .

APR-16-17   to  04-2016

MAY-16-17   to  05-2016

JUN-16-17   to  06-2016

JUL-16-17   to  07-2016

AUG-16-17   to  08-2016

SEP-16-17   to  09-2016

OCT-16-17   to  10-2016

NOV-16-17   to  11-2016

DEC-16-17   to  12-2016

JAN-16-17   to  01-2017

FEB-16-17   to  02-2017

MAR-16-17   to  03-2017
