Spot bid screen to show carrier name in drop down

All,

In online booking/tendering screen where planners select the winning carrier in drop down, we would like to show carrier name instead of the carrier ID. Our carrier XIDs are very long and we would like to replace it with either SCAC or carrier name. In manager layout for online booking, this field is in non-editable area. We are in 18C, is there any supported configuration/customization to meet this requirement?
