Promotion in a child item of a customizable product

Hi All,

Just want to explore related to siebel promotion (for customizable product)

Requirement

-Test Product Root (Componet Type Customizable)

    - AMIT Test SMAFRE2 (Componet Type Customizable) -- Can coupon type Promotion be attached here. ( I see in eConfigurator option to select promotion against any product).

Based on promotion selection actually we want to restrict the selections in "AMIT Test SMAFRE2" when we click customize.

I have tried creating the promotion ( type cupon,which does not have any eligibility check) and adding the product "AMIT Test SMAFRE2" in the promotion.

But not able to get the promotion visible in selection inside the eConfigurator.
