opatchauto doesn't patch "empty" homes

We have installed 2 database 12.2.0.1 homes home_1 and home_2 and a grid home (Oracle Restart and ASM).  There is a database using home_2.  While appling patch opatchauto apply it did everything except patch home_1, is there method to make opatchauto aware of home_1, it's part of the inventory?
