Update from OL7.4 to OL7.5 no network if using NetworkManager

edited Nov 1, 2018 5:10AM in Linux Operating System (MOSC) 2 commentsAnswered

I have 3 identical Oracle linux 7.4 servers, PROD, DEV, TST.  I recently ran a yum update on my DEV server, it updated it from 7.4 to 7.5.  After the update the system is fine.  When I reboot and it boots up on UEK kernel 3.8.13-118.25.1.el7uek.x86_64, my network adapter does not load.  If I try to manually load the adapter with ifup ifcfg-<adapter name>, it gives me:

"Error: Connection activation failed:  The base network connection was interrupted"

If I try to activate the connection using NMTUI, I get error:

"Could not activate connection:  Activation failed:  IP configuration could not be reserved (no available address, timeout, etc.)"

Howdy, Stranger!
