Do I need to run fs_clone after applying a hot patch?

I have applied a hot patch....yes, it was approved. My understanding is that I need to execute fs_clone after applying the hot patch before I start a new patch cycle. Is that correct or will the adop prepare phase sync the patch file system so I don't lose the hot patch?
