Is it mandatory- All ASM disk paths should be identical on both nodes in 2 node Oracel RAC environme

Hi All,

I am a Sys admin and not DBA.

I had tried for a upgrade of powerpath multipath software in first node of the Oracle RAC env.
Since it failed and reverted back to previous version, the ASM disk paths in node1 got changed to different than in node2.

But when DBA started the RAC services on node1 everything normal and all disk group are optimal.

Could you please confirm is it mandatory that all ASM disk paths to be identical in Oracle RAC.

Environment:

RAC nodes are Physical servers with Oracle Linux 6.8

Oracle RAC 12.2.0.1
