Unable to extend datafile is ASM diskgroup after adding LUN

One one of our dev database servers, we filled up a disk group. I then added a LUN, realized that our sysadmin made it the wrong size,

dropped the LUN and added a different LUN. It took about 10 minutes for the old LUN to go away before I added the new LUN.

But I did not get any errors during that process. Now when I try to grow the temp tablespace I am getting an error showing that the space is

exhausted. It seems like the new LUN is unusable. What can I do to try to make ASM use the new LUN?
