Store close process for creating posspoll zip file

After store close, Lead register gathers all the data from non lead registers and condenses to just 1 file.

I noticed a change in the way pospoll files are created at the store close in version 16.0.0.0.699.
I need to know if this is a configuration change / code change? If yes, please give some details. And if it is base behavior then please suggest on how to condense pospoll files to just one file.
