How to convert period_name to Date Format

Hi,how to change the period_name(ex:2017-12) to DD-MM-YYYY format
example(s):
1.  2017-12 need to convert to 01/12/2017|31/12/2017
2.  2016-02 need to convert to 01/02/2016|29/02/2016
3.  2018-11 need to convert to 01/11/2018|30/11/2018

Any help/suggestions/comments would be highly appreciated.
