Dual Units of Measure - as component

We have a component item that is set up with Dual Units of Measure and use the super backflush for partial completions as production comes off the line.  The component is not backflushing.  Is there a way to make this work or do we need to reclass this item to a non-dual unit of measure item and put that as the component?
