This question is for Canadian Payroll. "Other Tax Credits" field.
With RUP11 there is a new field called "Other Tax Credits" in the DFF of the Tax Information screen on both the Federal and Provincial tabs.
Documentation advises that this field is for other federal or provincial tax credits such as medical expenses or charitable donations.
I have 2 questions.
#1 - Is this field ONLY for tax credits for medical expenses and/or charitable donations? Some of the documentation says "for" and some says "such as".
#2 - If this is for "Other" Tax credits at source (not only medical or charitable) would this be the K3 and K3P values? If this is the case, prior to the additional of these fields, any authorized K3 (other federal tax credits) or K3P (other provincial tax credits) values were entered by using the Tax Credit Field. When I now enter these same amounts using the DFF tax credit screens, I do not get the same tax calculation.
