Databases crash during cluster failover/failback

Many of the databases crash during the failover/failback while upgrading firmware ILOM. Are there any settings on the database side that can be modified in terms of timeouts so that failover is survived. We are at 203.6.05.7 and the protocol is NFSv3...its all NAS
