R12.2 rapidwiz : not opening gui as root user

Hello,

I am in process of  upgrading my R12.1.3 instance to R12.2  .      The OS is   " Solaris sparc"      .     I am using : https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26401_01/doc.122/e73540.pdf

I have completed building stage  .  

As root user  ,  I am starting   . ./rapidwiz and it just exits without any error     .     When I try the same command from  "applprd" user ,    GUI opens up and I am able to proceed with installation..

As root user , i captured the error as follows

Rapid Install Wizard is validating your file system......

CMDDIR=/backup2/R122/r12stage/startCD/Disk1/rapidwiz

Rapid Install Wizard will now launch the Java Interface.....
