Standby creation

I need to create a physical standby (RAC with ASM) from a single instance (non-ASM). This is in 12.1.0.2 DB (grid 12.1.0.2 also in case of RAC) & Redhat Linux server (both sides). Goal is to set up managed recovery after creation and then switchover from single instance to RAC standby in the future and retire the existing single instance. Couldn't find document on MOS how to do this. (already tried export from single instance and import into RAC DB. It takes too long for this and is not acceptable solution.) The RAC environment has been installed on 3 nodes
