Star item BPA price not updated on running CTO Update Config and Optional processing Request Set

We made a change in the price of a component of an ATO model with 'buy' sourcing type. We then ran the 'CTO Update Config and Optional processing Request Set'. The expectation was that the star item price will now change as per the newly entered component price than what was seen earlier for the same configuration before the change. However, it is observed that even after running the 'CTO Update Config and Optional processing Request Set' there is no change in the price of star item either on BPA or the BPA release. In that case what does the
