Whats the best practice in HFM for when a company sells part of it's business and needs hierarchies

Hi,

My company has recently sold part of it's business, and as HFM Administrator I would like to ask whats the best practice for reflecting this in the hierarchies.

We would need to retain data for historic reasons.

We are on version 11.1.2.4

Questions/thoughts:

1. How other people deal with sale of entities within their hierarchies?
2. Is it best to clear out entities entirely or leave entities and clear out segment using consol company entries?
3. Move to discontinued in existing hierarchy at date of sale?
4. Have separate discontinued hierarchy?
5. We would need freeze FX rates and data at point of sale.
