Apply patch using opatch on 11.2.0.4 db in 12.1 RAC

Hi,

GRID - 12.1

DB - 11.2.0.4

Red Hat

Planning to patch this environment, as root just opatchauto apply (Patch 28349311 - Grid Infrastructure Patch Set Update 12.1.0.2.181016) this will patch the GRID infrastructure (and some 12.1 databases).

But how to apply Patch 28364007 - Oracle Database Security Patch Update 11.2.0.4.181016 (CPUOct2018) on the 11g database?

This is my plan:

shutdown the database on both nodes

as Oracle

opatch apply (on both or only one server?)

According to Rolling Patch - OPatch Support for RAC (Doc ID 244241.1)

• Patching RAC as a single instance (All-Node Patch)

In this mode, OPatch applies the patch to the local node first, then propagates the patch to all the other nodes, and finally updates the inventory. All instances must be down during the whole patching process.
