Does deleting data on a thin lun, return space to the array.

I have several 20+ TB FC Luns presented to several servers.  The servers have taken the LUNs and added then to their volume groups.  I want to know if I have the users to delete the data, does the array reclaim this space.  The user community has identified 40TB of data and they are willing to delete it.  Once the data is deleted, does it become available on the array?  These are thin LUNs.
