Externe Connexion to Data Source

Hello,
I'd like to know if there is a way to connect the OTM data base (otmoltp) with an eternal tool of bi (SAP for example). And what type of connection can i use to do so (as i know the bi publisher support : OBIEE connection, otmoltp ) is it the sae for other application?
