How to add parametric (attribute) search to applet

Standard search query in editlist applet isnt very useful. I need query mode like a form applet with SVF & MVF, period of dates, etc. I think it is not very specific, but common need - good filtering big dataset records.  Is there any vanilla functionality, there isnt?

PS: Activities has many classes, webtemplates, calendar as I see, may they have something like advanced parametric search component?
