difference between arrears and advance in payable leases in LA

Hi,

we are using FSCM 9.2 image 28

We created an Payables operating lease in LA.  Below are the details.

the start date is 01/01/2016 and end date is 02/01/2020

we created entered the interest and then added base rent and used "advance as an option." when we ran the transaction generator the entries didnt get generated.

Then i created an another asset with the "arrears" in base rent and then ran the transaction generator the entries got generated.

whats the difference between arrears and advance and why are the entries not getting created when I select advance as an option.

Could you please help us .
