Exclude Project Asset Line from Fixed Assets

We have an issue, when we ran the generate asset lines process at the end of September, it did not generate the asset lines for approximately 10 assets. We setup the assets manually. If we run the program now, it is picking up the asset lines. The logical solution would be to retire the assets and send the project assets to Fixed Assets, but the auditors don't want us to do this. Is there a way we can flag the asset lines in Projects not to be interfaced to fixed assets?
