Preferred Credential Target Types

Hello,

I have inherited an OEM Grid 13c environment and I am working with preferred credentials at this time.  I would like to know what the difference is between the target type of cluster database and database instance for a RAC environment.  There are RAC 3 databases in the instance, 2 have the preferred credential type of Database Instance and name the specific database on the server.  The third has preferred credential type of Cluster Database and the name is the cluster name used by all member of the RAC.

Do these different types function differently when using the preferred credentials from the grid?
