Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Unable to update Task Source Reference

A customer using our Project Wizard product wishes to change the Task Source Reference.

The tool uses ADD_TASK, UPDATE_TASK, or LOAD_TASK/UPDATE_PROJECT APIs depending on the mode selected by the user.

My experience is that this is not possible, and when updating Tasks, the API ignores the parameter when the Task ID is provided.

This is not consistent with the Project level, where if you pass the Project ID, a change to the Project Source Reference is allowed.

Does anyone know if the inconsistency has been resolved ? Ideally, if you provide the Task ID, a change to the Source Reference should be allowed.
