How to change contract_number for contracts in ACTIVE and SIGNED status

Dear All,

How to change contract_number for contracts in ACTIVE and SIGNED status. We can change contract_number for ENTERED contracts, but not for mentioned two, as contract_number in greyed out in this.

Please reply accordingly on this.
