RMAN Catalog Compatibility for 12.2 and 12.1

Looking for clarification on setting up an RMAN Catalog.

Server1 hosts 12.2 databases

Server2 hosts 12.1 and 12.2 databases

I want to catalog Server2 databases in the RMAN Catalog on Server1.

I want to catalog Server1 databases in the RMAN Catalog on Server2. 

When setting up the catalog on Server1, can I use the 12.2 catalog for the 12.1 databases on Server2?
