Best Practices for Using Ship To Codes for Regional Pricing

We need to have multiple prices for an item depending on the region that the item is being shipped to. The functionality of price adjustments has been explored and researched. This will entail using thousands of Ship To codes and having regional pricing for them. How has this been handled by other organizations? Do you have examples of best practices for an organization that has thousands of ship to codes that will be used for regional pricing?
