R47012C - Leading zeros

My client is using R47012C to output outbound EDI records. These records will come out with leading zeros for things such as the line number or the item number. Is there any way to modify the behaviour of the report? It doesn't seem possible through processing options so I'm wondering if there is some other setup elsewhere.
