OL7.6 with UEK5 kernels hang on boot

After updating a test VM from 7.5 to 7.6, update the yum repo list to include UEK5, updated again and picked up the new kernel. If I then reboot it hangs.

Fails:   linux16 /vmlinuz-4.14.35-1818.4.7.el7uek.x86_64 root=/dev/mapper/ol-root ro crashkernel=auto rd.lvm.lv=ol/root rd.lvm.lv=ol/swap net.ifnames=0 biosdevname=0 LANG=en_US.UTF-8

Boots Up:        linux16 /vmlinuz-4.1.12-124.23.1.el7uek.x86_64 root=/dev/mapper/ol-root ro crashkernel=auto rd.lvm.lv=ol/root rd.lvm.lv=ol/swap net.ifnames=0 biosdevname=0 LANG=en_US.UTF-8

Boots up:        linux16 /vmlinuz-4.1.12-124.19.1.el7uek.x86_64 root=/dev/mapper/ol-root ro crashkernel=auto rd.lvm.lv=ol/root rd.lvm.lv=ol/swap net.ifnames=0 biosdevname=0 LANG=en_US.UTF-8
