Does adop run ETCC automatically?

I have read the patch 17537119 release notes and have run the ETCC scripts manually before, but I am unclear about how adop uses ETCC.  When you patch with adop, it lists the patches recommended by ETCC.  Does adop actually run the ETCC scripts?  If so, where do you have to install them so that adop sees the most recent downloaded scripts?

I was in the middle of an adop patching cycle in a test environment and decided to see if running the 2 ETCC scripts manually would affect the next adop log regarding the ETCC-recommended patches (thinking maybe it updates database tables which a later adop run will pick up).
