Notify when Assignment Organization is changed

Is there any seeded function that would alert or report on employees whose assignment organization is changed?  We have a need to pull a list of staff whose organization is changed on the Assignment screen so that network staff can update another system with the change.

I know I can write an alert or custom report to pick up this list for any assignment updated on a date where the prior date-tracked assignment record has a different organization_id.  If there is already a seeded function that can do this, I don't want to reinvent the wheel.

I appreciate any comments on this subject.
