Oracle now has a standalone ODA system disk backup and recovery tool called ODABR for all bare-metal ODAs.  This tool allows ODA customers to quickly back up the local ODA system disk before patching.

  • The new Oracle Database Appliance Backup Recovery (ODABR) is an important contribution to decreasing downtime often seen during patching outages. Patching outages are currently the highest source of escalations and unplanned downtime. The ODABR process allows a recovery from patching failures including the ability to restore back to pre-patch states.
