Asset Management - Mass Transactions Process - funds split between two departments

It appears we are using the asset management Mass Transactions process to transfer an asset from one chartfield/dept to another.

This asset is set on the depreciation tab with a convention of 1/2 year, when you transfer, it splits the depretiation 1/2 year between the fund you are moving it from to the fund you are moving it to when the transaction  performed is a transferred

Is this working  as designed?
