Reading from a PDF file

Hi All

We have a requirement from one of our clients. They currently receive their Purchase Orders from their customers in a PDF document. They want the ability to read the PDF and perform validations on Item Number and Price as compared to the PDF. Has anyone come across a similar situation or solution for this.

Any help would be appreciated.
