Change in Date Pattern

Hello All, I am working on  project which is gone live on 01/01/2019. And user have made several transactions till today with GL date => 01/01/2019. The Date pattern which is used is Calendar Year that is 01/01/2019 to 31/12/2019. But now Client need Non Calendar Date Pattern which is used Globally. The date patterns used globally is from 30/12/2018  to 28/12/2019 for Fiscal year 2019.  First time as I have interacted with such scenario I would like some one should guide me on below points. - does it require to follow "Short Year Setup"  - as per me it
