Query or API for Serial Number Genealogy?

We're running oracle EBS 12.1.3.

Our business relies heavily on Install Base and Service Contracts for standard and extended warranties.  We also use the SR module to provide RMA's - so it is possible a single serial number / part can be owned by several different customers over its lifetime.

We're trying to identify the original shipment date for serial number / part number combinations, as our products have a life of 10 years.  We want to make sure a serial number/part which is 10 years or older is not eligible for extended warranties - and is scrapped as End of Support.

Unfortunately - our implementation of Install base shows only the last shipped date.  We need to do several application lookups starting with Install Base, Then Service Contracts, then the SR, to track down the original shipment date of any particular serial number.
