Link between Item Instances against Lot-enabled Normal Items upon Issuance in Project Based PO Recei

Hi All,

We are using the Project based PO Receipts at our client as described in the support note: Test Case: PO Receipt to Projects For a Serialized Normal Item (Doc ID 1550645.1). After receipt, business processes the instances further to install them at site and put the same in-service. As per standard behavior,

system doesn't change the item instance in case of serialized items upon install & in-service events however system generates new item instances upon install and then again a new one at in-service event in case of Lot-controlled normal items.

My question is that how we can built an authentic link between the latest item instance having status in-service for a lot enabled normal item with the expired item instances that were at the time of installed & not used.
