usage partial retirement API Doc ID 558980.1

Can we use the API described in described in Doc ID 558980.1 for partial retirement of the asset distribution_id and its assigned distributionb units?

from applications as per the KB and guides its not possible. referred the FAQ on retirement section 8 clearly describes with examples that it is not possible.

sample: need to retire the distribution line with .34 units.
