New Asset Cost lines against an existing asset is trying to create as new Asset in Oracle FA with th

As part of business separation we need to create a new Ledger, Asset book, Project and associated details in our R12.2 instance.

For FA and related Costs from Capital Projects we used the following approached.

Loaded the Assets into FA with the already capitalized cost in old book as Asset amout.

Now we brought expenditure lines which were not capitalized in Old book to new Asset book. We then captialized the expenditure lines, assigned the asset and transferred it to FA.

The issue is when the Mass Additions posting process gets run in FA, it is erroring with detail as Asset Number already in use, please use new one.
