Oracle RAC One Node instance naming

I have a Oracle One Node RAC, which is ready for go-live, but one question about instance names.  During setup, the primary node where the database is intended to "live" went down and it switched to the 2nd node.  I did relocate to bring it back to the intended node, but now the instance name is appended with "_2".  Our monitors want to know the instance name, and now it's variable? 

Is there any way I can start with the "_1" instance on the 1st node, or are we at the mercy of the instance OneNode picks?
