Is there an equivalent to Stocking Type "O" that can be used to put items on hold?

Hi,

Customer is already using Stocking Type "O" Obsolete for items that have been obsoleted.

They have a process whereby items are created in JDE, but are not to be released for general sale until all setup has been completed (costing, allocations etc.)

Rather than using the availability checking (there's no stock) at point of Sales Order Entry and lines going on backorder, they wanted to be able to stop users being able to enter these items on the Sales Orders at point of order entry

I've read up on Item Restrictions, but as there are hundreds of customers, this would be too cumbersome.

Howdy, Stranger!
