Checking the retirement check box, Box 13, on W2

We are not able to manually check Box 13, Retirement, on the W2 if the following conditions apply.

1.  If the employee is enrolled in a pension plan and not contributing to the 401k plan, box 13 will not be marked on the W2.  We currently have pension eligible employees that do not have a deduction code associated with the pension plan.  Pension employees may or may not contribute to our 401k plan.  If the employee does contribute to the 401k plan the box is checked, however, if they do NOT contribute to the 401k plan the box will remain unchecked.  This happens regardless if the employee is in 1 or multiple companies in the year, thus receiving
