RAC One Node mix of physical(active) and virtual(ovm)?

Hi,  hope RAC community can advise, we are investigating HA products to  improve HA for our P1 system,  we are looking  at RAC One Node  vs OVM.

Bare Metal RAC One Node would be preferred choice currently, however its passive node would be underutilised.

I was asked if passive node could be  virtual, ie OVM guest in a One Node RAC configuration,  primary node bare metal, passive one VM…. I expect the answer will be – it’s a bad idea but would appreciate your opinion.

2nd Q is more Generic,  your experience of  reliability and performance- OVM  compared to bare metal RAC configuration – which is more suitable  for P1 systems  that  can tolerate brief planned outages)
