Is it possible to calculate Planned Effort automatically based on start date and End date while crea

Hi Folks,

Could anyone suggest on below requirements in Project Planning and control.

1)Is it possible to calculate Planned Effort automatically based on start date and End date while creating the Project.

2)When updating the Workplan,we enter schedule start date and End date manually and duration is calculated by system.But is it possible to enter only start date and duration in days to calculate the End date automatically based on duration?
