IBM LTO7 FC drive

Hi All

Our customer would like to add more IBM LTO7 drives to their existing IBM LTO6 drives on a SL8500.

Customer is saying that they paid cheaper for the LTO6 drives a few years ago, then what they are quote now for LTO7, which is obvious over years, economy, etc..

Will the difference in price have to do with drive encryption on the part number of the drive between the LTO6 and LTO7 -  LTO6 PN# 7081267 (question ask by customer)

My answer was no - just that prices increased rapidly over the years, etc.

any thoughts?
