DEFERRED RENT START AND END DATES FIELD ON ASC842 leases

We are testing new leases on asc 842. We noticed that straightline start date and end date field on terms page are derived from ls_classification flag on RE_LS table.

We have operating leases setup but the LS_CLASSIFICATION flag in RE_LS table is always set to C (finance lease) and straightline start date and end date fields don't show up.

Is there a reason for keeping this field to C despite the lease being operating lease? If we change the peoplecode to set this flag to 'O' then straightline process is not generating schedule and also asset we have created through leases is not capitalizing.
